Looked at the video & was not overly impressed just another load of talking and no practical tools that make it easier for people like myself who have dyslexia.

 

I want it to be as simple as 123 not a hall load of mystical difficult IT science jargon that is difficult to understand or follow.

Watched entire video, should have been titled how to work with social media, not “…Search Engine Optimization in Social Media.” And for an intro to Social media, good video.

But early on, the message was ‘you can’t optimize social media, but here is how you use it’. But in reality, you can and should optimize your social media. First let me state, all social media sites have their own search mechanisms, so therefore your content can be optimized for those search mechanisms. Not to mention optimizing your content for search sites and directories that are 3rd party to the social sites, but list social site content.

Take Youtube, a Google social site. You should optimize your video titles, descriptions, channel title and description, playlist, etc. If done correctly, your video can show up in number 1 spot on Google search results too. Even if you didn’t create a page on your company website with video embedded.

Google indexes tweets to, and hash tags in tweets is another aspect of search engine optimization of tweets. But out of all the social media sites, Facebook is probably the one with least SEO ROI, for now. (A great ROI on time networking, just not SEO because of limited search indexing and capabilities.) With FB running neck and neck with Google, that will change. Google may just capitalize by indexing Facebook, may partner with them, and last option, try to outdo them. But whatever comes out of the healthy competition, an SEOed Facebook profile and fan pages will benefit you more in the future. So you should SEO all Internet content, including social media.
